The Player Obrien Wakeboards

As one of the most popular boards ever to grace the O’Brien line, the Player (designed by Daniel Watkins) is definitely a board just waiting to explode off the wake. This is all due to an aggressive 3-stage rocker and wider mid-section. If you’re a rider who likes incredibly precise edge hold, the Player has cupped rails and ten total fins (8 molded, 2 removable) to give you more than you’d ever want. Not to worry, you can completely cut this deck loose by taking off the removable fins giving you a forgiving skate feel. It all depends on how you want to ride.

3-STAGE ROCKER– Large flat spot gives the board huge pop off the wake
8 MOLDED IN FINS– Excellent tracking and stability.
SWALLOW TAIL– Allows the board to release easily off the wake.
CUPPED RAILS– Super strong edge hold.
GRAB RAILS– Gives the board strength, reduces weight, and gives the rider
something to grab.

Great pop but lacked the feel of durability. Within the first year it was cracking and peeling on me, although Obrien graciously offered to replace it. Great overall design as well so I cannot complain too much, just one of those things that would be nice to have last.

The 138 Player is a bad ass board wakeboard by Obrien especially for the price. It might take a moment to go everything I loved, but nothing else I have ridden stayed glued to the water when tracking quite like this board as well as when landing.

The 10 fins seem deceptive as it is easy to butter into 360’s and has a killer amount of pop with a nice flat middle in the 3 stage rocker.

A solid all around board that makes maneuvering seem effortless, I almost shat the first time out.
