Natural Obrien Wakeboards

Information:
“After the debut season on the market, the Natural has already become one of the most innovative decks on the market. The legacy it has created only continues for 2008.” When designing this deck, O’Brien’s engineers sat down and worked the details out with Daniel Watkins. He wanted the wakeboard to have similar features to his last wakeboard, the Player. So O’Brien pushed the limits with the already successful Player to create the Natural. For starters the molded fins were narrowed and/ or shortened to create less drag and let this deck build as much speed as possible. However this did not quite create the speed Daniel was looking for, so the chevron notches were introduced to the bottom of the wakeboard. Used in competition race boats for years, the chevrons help break water off the tail of the wakeboard making it ride higher and faster in the water. This gives you a 3-stage rocker wakeboard that adds many characteristics of a continuous rocker wakeboard, making it nearly compatible with any style of rider. The rails were fully rolled all the way up through and to the cupped rails, making the deck roll onto edge smoother for a more natural feeling. It also made the wakeboard more durable to sliders and kickers. Daniel loved the ultra smooth landings of the Player so we kept the same double concave in the middle of the wakeboard. [Read more →]

CWB Faction Wakeboards

The Faction movement was formed last year when a couple reps had some riders that made a difference in their territories. It was built around those riders who do everything it takes and whatever it takes to get their next set. Eating, sleeping, and breathing take a back seat, everything wake. The Faction brand is now not only a board and boots, but clothing, handles and now a shape targeted to the smaller rider. The guys wanted a board that was a different ride, something they could take to the cable or rail park and still have something they could hit a solid double up, or pull a back five off the wake. It is a free shape with very little going on with the bottom. When something was designed, prototypes were shipped to ten riders from pro’s to shop employees. Feedback was then pooled, and out came the Faction board. A continuous rocker line, very small molded fins, and subtle rails create a shape that glides across the water effortlessly.
